BISP widens the quarterly stipend. Here is who qualifies.

The Benazir Income Support Programme will raise the quarterly cash stipend and reopen enrolment for households that fell just outside the last poverty scorecard. The change is the most significant expansion since 2023, and it will be felt first in districts already on the flood watch list.

Who is newly eligible

BISP will use an updated National Socio-Economic Registry extract. Households that were rejected in 2024 because they sat one band above the cut-off will be reassessed automatically. Newly displaced families in Sindh and Balochistan can apply through a fast-track camp desk.

• Women remain the primary recipients in most households.
• A valid CNIC is required; child registration helps but is not a barrier.
• Duplicate payments across BISP and a provincial cash scheme will be reconciled, not cancelled overnight.

How to check your status

Text your 13-digit CNIC to 8171, or use the official 8171 web portal. If the reply says “not eligible,” visit a Tehsil office with your CNIC and a recent utility bill. Do not pay an agent to “fast-track” a file — BISP does not charge for enrolment.

Payment channels

Most recipients will be paid through partner banks and designated retailers. Biometric verification is required at the first collection after a status change. If your fingerprint fails, ask for the iris fallback — it is available at every tehsil-level centre.
