Rooftop solar panels on a residential building

The federal-provincial rooftop subsidy for 5–10 kW home systems closes on 30 September. After that, households can still install solar — they just pay the full price, and net-metering queues lengthen.

What to do this week

  • Book a free survey only with an AEDB-registered vendor. Ask for the registration number and check it.
  • Photograph your last electricity bill, CNIC, and roof access.
  • Do not pay a “file fee.” The application is free; you pay the household share after approval.

Provincial energy desks said the most common rejection is a meter that is not in the applicant’s name. If you live in a family home, add the registered consumer as a co-applicant now — not on 29 September.
