Coke Studio’s new season leans into regional languages — and shorter songs

Producers say the brief was simple: fewer eight-minute epics, more songs people can actually finish.

The next Coke Studio season will open with a Sindhi-Punjabi collaboration and a runtime closer to four minutes than eight. Producers said the change is not a retreat from ambition — it is a concession to how people listen on phones.

Recording blocks in Lahore finish this month. The first release is expected before Eid-e-Milad processions begin in the cities.
